Spread Spectrum from Two Perspectives
Spread spectrum techniques are often employed when transmitting information. They are widely used in wireless and cellular telephony. Spread spectrum techniques allow one to partition bandwidth, to hide transmissions, and to protect one’s transmissions from being jammed. In this article, we develop two facets of spread spectrum. We show how to understand the properties of direct sequence spread...
متن کاملCapacity in a Two Cell Spread Spectrum Network
This paper reviews recent work on spread spectrum network capacity. The network is shown to have a capacity that is equitably shared amongst the users via power control. This solution is much simpler than the bandwidth partitioning of the FDMA/reuse approach. The capacity gains from using spread spectrum, arising from the averaging and multiplexing, are also emphasised.
متن کاملA robust spread spectrum watermarking method using two levels DCT
In this paper, a DCT-based blind watermarking scheme based on spread spectrum communications is proposed. We perform block-based DCT on the host image; then using the DC coefficients of each block, we construct a low-resolution approximation image. We apply block-based DCT on this approximation image, then watermark is embedded by adding a pseudo random noise sequence into its high frequencies....
متن کاملSpread-Spectrum Computation
We observe that existing methods for failure-tolerance are inefficient in their use of time, storage and computational resources. We aim to harness the power of idle desktop computers for data-parallel computations, which are particularly sensitive to failure, and propose spreadspectrum computation as a suite of techniques to mitigate failures in an internet-scale distributed system. Spread-spe...
متن کاملSpread spectrum image steganography
In this paper, we present a new method of digital steganography, entitled spread spectrum image steganography (SSIS). Steganography, which means "covered writing" in Greek, is the science of communicating in a hidden manner. Following a discussion of steganographic communication theory and review of existing techniques, the new method, SSIS, is introduced. This system hides and recovers a messa...
